I think I might have hemorrhoids from sitting too much at the computer?
Can that happen?
I was showering today and I noticed a little lump back there that hurt to the touch when I washed it with the soap bar.
I don’t know if this is normal or not, or if I’ve had it before.
It’s just this sensitive lump of skin that I feel (I haven’t seen it yet) in the @nal opening.
Is this curable, treatable? I think it might be just one external hemorrhoid but can it be caused from too much sitting?

I don’t believe that hemorrhoids are caused by sitting.
Usually a diet that’s poor in fiber and bulk will cause them. All of us eat too many fast foods these days, and those are the worst for digestion and nutrition.
But they do taste so good and are so convenient.
And yes, it’s curable in most cases, by a better diet. If it doesn’t resolve itself, you may need to see a doctor about it.
Yes, you can get hemorrhoids from too much sitting. In the future, break up long computer sessions with exercise and make sure your diet has enough fiber.
Hemorrhoids are treatable. The easiest place to start with with a cream like Preparation H, which you can get over-the-counter at any pharmacy. Avoid the ones with Witch Hazel; it’s an irritant.
While you’re treating it, keep the "area" clean and dry. Avoid wiping; pat softly instead. Get off the toilet quickly and try not to strain. Eat a diet high in fiber and drink plenty of liquids.
Hi III,
If it is a hemorrhoid yes it is curable nothing goes away over night. You did not mention your age but generally speaking the older you are the more susceptible you are to hemorrhoids.
Too much sitting would only be one of a few reasons why you have a hemorrhoid,I would advise if possible every 45-60 minutes just get up and take a quick stroll around your office or better still down the passage and back.
So what else causes them,In a lot of cases increased pressure on the veins in the pelvic and rectal area. As pressure increases, blood pools in veins and causes them to swell, the then swollen veins stretch the surrounding tissue and hemorrhoids develop.
Some other contributing factors, being overweight, medical conditions, tumors in the pelvic region, constipation liver disease, heart disorders, anal intercourse, and simply sitting on the toilet for a long period of time.Hemorrhoids are more likely as you get older because the tissues that support the veins in your rectum and anus can weaken and stretch with aging.
