Hemorrhoids and Anusitus: Similar Symptoms But Different Conditions

We all know that there’s little research done for hemorrhoids even if it’s a common condition.
An article from Edmonton Sun discussed treating hemorrhoids using rubber band litigation. Dr. Warren Rudd uses this technique together with cryosurgery to freeze the hemorrhoids.

This approach is said to be 90% effective in most cases. There’s only 3% chance of small blood clot occuring in the anal area.

It’s interesting to know that a burning sensation is not always caused by hemorrhoids. The article mentioned that it could be a case of “Anusitus”. In this condition, there’s an inflamed area inside the anus and it causes small discharge around that area. The wetness seeps into the skin causing tiny cracks which then triggers itching. It also causes burning senstation and blood can also be found on the toilet paper.

So a burning sensation and blood on toilet paper doesn’t automatically mean that you have hemorrhoids. In case you have Anusitus, you can treat it easily using Anurex. This is a reusable probe that contains a cold gel. It’s inserted into the anus like a suppository after it’s been cooled in the freezer for at least an hour.
